Biography
An emerging playwright, Valerie Free has studied introductory playwriting at the National Theatre School with Alice Abracen, the Québec Writers’ Federation (QWF) with Alexandria Haber, and London Playwrights Workshop. Literary journals CV2 and Lunate have published her poetry, Agnes and True her short fiction. Nightwood Theatre’s Fempocalypse 2022 selected "for generous use, in street sign art and poem installation" for their virtual gallery’s fundraiser. "Red Suitcases" received an Honourable Mention in a CBC/QWF competition and was published in Short Stuff: New English Stories from Québec (Véhicule Press). She lives in Tiohtià:ke / Montréal and holds a M.Ed. from McGill University.
