    Biography

    Armin Wiebe has published five books set in mythical Gutenthal: The Salvation of Yasch Siemens, Murder in Gutenthal, The Second Coming of Yeeat Shpanst, Armin’s Shorts, and Grandmother, Laughing. His play, The Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven Blatz, is also set there. Tatsea, set in Canada’s subarctic, was awarded the McNally Robinson Book of the Year Award and the Margaret Laurence Award for Fiction. Armin’s first Oata play, Wine and Little Breads, received an Honourable Mention in the 2019 Herman Voaden National Playwrighting Competition; the second, The Recipe, received an initial workshop with Manitoba Association of Playwrights Play Lab in 2021.
